February 7 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Join Professor Jon Holt, the ‘Engineer in the Hat,’ for a magical evening of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

In this family lecture, he will explore the power of numbers; the impact that they have on our everyday lives; and why they are so important for STEM. Learn how we can use numbers to predict the future, read minds and influence our lives. Explore how we can also use numbers for the greater good and the not-so-greater good!

Expect an evening of wonder with plenty of audience participation, terrible jokes, a bed-time story and some mind-blowing magic.

This performance is suitable for children and adults of any age.

Prof Jon Holt is an international award-winning author and public speaker who has authored 12 books on MBSE and its applications.

Jon is also a Professor of Systems Engineering at Cranfield University, a Fellow of both the IET and the BCS and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional. He is currently the Technical Director of INCOSE UK and, in 2015, was identified as one of the 25 most-influential Systems Engineers in the last 25 years by INCOSE.

Jon is also actively involved in the promotion of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) where he uses magic, mind-reading and occasional escapology to promote Systems Engineering at Science Festivals, radio shows and other STEM events. He has authored the children’s STEM book ‘Think Engineer’ which is published by INCOSE UK.

The lecture is at 8pm and is preceeded by an optional dinner.  Ticket options below are for with the lecture only or dinner and lecture.
