New Era Vets have issued advice to anyone thinking of importing a Horse to Jersey.
In a social post they advise the following.
While there are no legal powers in place to control imports of horses from the UK to Jersey, we would strongly re-iterate our advice from last week. Should you be able to delay importation until the situation in the UK has become clearer this would be ideal. If you still wish to import a horse, we would suggest a vet health check before travelling and making sure that the horse has had a flu vaccination within the last six months. Upon arrival in Jersey, we would recommend strict isolation for 14 – 21 days with bio-security measures put in place to limit any risk of spread.
