They received a call at 11pm last night from a sailor who wanted to travel from Jersey to Guernsey.
The Channel Islands’ air search team have spent the day scouring local waters after a boat failed to arrive in Guernsey this morning.
An emergency ‘pan-pan’ call was received by Guernsey Coastguard at 4am.
The Channel Islands’ air search team were dispatched at 7:30am to search an area between the two islands.
No-one has been reported missing, but authorities are keen to speak to anyone with information about a vessel called ‘Delta Buoy’ or ‘Delta Boy’.
Today’s poor weather conditions and rough seas have made the search for the vessel more challenging.
Despite not finding it, the incident will remain open pending any further information.
If anyone knows what may have happened to the vessel they are being asked to call Jersey Coastguard on 01534 447 705.
